Welcome to Club TSA! Technology Student Association. Established at BHHS in 2016, students lead hands on independent and group technology related activities. Students prepare for Regional and State STEM related TSA competitions. Perhaps if you win STATE you can advance to Nationals. TSA members serve the greater Tumwater Community by hosting a STEM Camps and STEM Carnivals at local elementary schools. Often we take student on STEM related field trips. We have visited the Microsoft campus in Redmond, the UW CS Program, Seattle's Institute of Technology, and met leaders from the Tacoma Northwest College of Art and Design. Students have traveled to the NIFFTY Film Festival in Seattle and the local TV station for Thurston County Media. The New York Film Academy also offers a Speakers series to TSA members. Students are offered opportunities to check out TECH equipment and may receive advanced training on Industry equipment.
At Black Hills High School, Mrs. Larson is the lead advisor. Mr. Bell and Mr. Cutler support students interests during Club Times and as they problem solve competitions for State events. We have many more teachers jumping on board to offer student project support.
